The donuts are delicious, with so many unique and interesting flavors, but we’re here to talk about the cinnamon rolls. To put it simply, they are the best cinnamon rolls in New York City. Oh, and get this – Cloudy Donut Co. is 100% vegan.

Cloudy Donut Co. is the first black-owned business in Brooklyn Heights, NYC! Undeniably, they are out here making history and bringing awareness to black-owned business in predominately white neighborhoods. On top of that, the store is clean and simple with light turquoise accents, which we love. Also, they are open Friday through Sunday, so they know what a three-day work week is. Respect. Rotating through more than 40 different donut flavors, they select 8 for the week. You can check their socials or website to see the weekly flavors.
Most importantly, they have three different cinnamon roll options. THREE. They bake them fresh and are constantly rolling out new trays. In truth, nothing beats a hot cinnamon roll. Literally, nothing. Comment below if you know of something, it’s open to discussion, but somehow you’re already wrong.
Lucky for us, we live in Brooklyn Heights and lucky for you, we’ve gone to Cloudy Donut Co. one too many times. Therefore, we are the most qualified to be writing this review. As plant-based baddies, it is difficult to stumble upon a fully vegan cinnamon roll, even though most of our time is spent researching vegan food and restaurants. “Researching” is a loose word that means studying menus, heading to said restaurant, and eating said food. Through our hard work, we’ve obviously discovered the best cinnamon rolls in New York City. Okay enough about our baked goods resume!
The Cinnamon Rolls
The cinnamon rolls aren’t talked about much on Cloudy’s website or instagram. We’re not sure why since they are the best in the world – we’ll have to have a word with Cloudy D. They will knock you directly to the floor because of how fluffy, doughy, and delicious they are. Don’t say we didn’t warn you. Hand on heart, best cinnamon rolls we’ve EVER had.
Furthermore, they are LARGE and in charge but don’t be fooled, you absolutely must get your own. We tried to split the first one we ever got and as a result, it turned into an argument that lasted most of the day. The rolls have this crispy, burnt sugar bottom that we just can’t put into words. Everyone we know that tried the crispy bottom has indeed been left speechless – literally mouth open, drooling, staring at us in shock. Yes, looking at you Rose. Our Favorites
- Brown Butter – This one is our favorite. Simple, elegant, and dare we say like a CLOUD. It melts in your mouth with a lingering sweet, buttery flavor.
- Maple Pecan – If you’re in the mood for a nutty topping and rich maple flavoring, this one is for you. The crunchy pecan pieces add a little something special to the fluffy cinnamon roll texture.
In addition, they even make “puppy treats” aka donuts for dogs. If you’re a dog reading this article, you can choose from Lil Bow Wow and Snoop Doggy Donut. Two great flavors – you really can’t go wrong.
